Caramels

Recipe is from Mazie.

1 cup sugar
¾ cup white Karo
1 cup cream

Cook to firm ball stage (note from Janet: about 235 degrees is better). Pour on a buttered platter and place 4 TB butter on top. When cold, beat until creamy; add ¾ cup chopped nuts and vanilla.
